Why do I need an invitation to apply to Nexus Futbol Academy?
The application is an arduous process that evaluates the students' academic and soccer levels. The process also includes shadow days and getting to know the families of the applicants. We want to make sure the family and student is the right fit before asking anyone to go through this time-consuming process and incur any fees related to it.
How do I get invited to apply to Nexus Futbol Academy for the 2023-2024 school year?

Are your courses NCAA-Approved for my high schooler or 8th grader taking courses for high school credit?
Yes. All of the courses required for NCAA eligibility are approved. Our NCAA High School code is 853405. You can look up our current eligibility status on the NCAA website here. Our students at Nexus are put on an academic path starting in 8th grade to be D1 eligible. (which by default, makes them D2 eligible)
What grades are you accepting for the 2024-2025 school year?
While we are accepting applications for grades 4th-12th and we expect to have those grades during the 2023-2024 academic school year, the pool of qualified applicants will ultimately determine which grades we will have next year.
Is the academic curriculum just a homeschool curriculum on the computer?
No, the academic curriculum is developed and taught by qualified experienced teachers, just as a student would experience in a traditional school. Houston Dynamo Academy u17, u20, and Houston Dynamo 2 high school students are transitioned to an online curriculum, but taught and managed by an in-person teacher.
Can Nexus provide specialized learning for students with an IEP or 504 accommodations?
Unfortunately, as of right now, Nexus cannot support IEPs or 504 plans.
Where will Nexus be located for the 2024-2025 school year?
Nexus is located at 2045 Reflection Bay Drive in Pearland, TX. We will continue to operate at this location for the 2024-2025 school year.
Is there an opportunity to tour Nexus?
We will be providing a handful of short tours of Nexus, including a Question and Answer time with Head of School Wendy Canales and Co-Founder and Head of Futbol Henry Costas starting October 1. Please register for our mailing list (using the pop up on our website), follow us on Instagram or Facebook, or check back frequently to receive updates about these.
Are there any fees associated with the admissions application?
Yes. The application fees total to $150. The fee includes the Application Fee and Testing Fee. The Nexus Trialist Fee is $75/5 sessions and can be paid directly to Heart and Sole.
How can I, as a parent, become involved with Nexus?
Nexus was founded by two soccer dads. Two teachers who have been hired since have sons at Nexus. We love that all the current Nexus families show interest in being a part of the growth of Nexus as investors, employees, contractors, and more. If you are interested in being a part of the growth of Nexus in some capacity, please email Ibrahim Firat at ibrahim@nexusfutbol.com. Please note that parent involvement in the growth of Nexus does not guarantee a spot for your child.
Do you offer any other sports besides soccer?
We do not offer any other sports other than soccer; however, we have received many inquiries for baseball, gymnastics, tennis, and basketball. What will be the tuition for the 2024-2025 school year?
While we have not finalized the tuition for next year, the tuition for the first three school years was $15,000 for the year, not including uniforms or field trips. Tuition will stay within an 8% increase of this year's tuition. That number will be final by the close of applications on January 28, 2024.
Do you provide financial aid?
Currently, 30% of our students receive some sort of financial assistance to attend Nexus Futbol Academy. The amount of financial aid that is available is based on our community sponsors. Through the Nexus Academy Foundation (501c3), we are hopeful to provide need-based tuition aid for more families for the 2024-2025 school year. Please do not let the ability-to-pay factor keep you from applying for Nexus Futbol Academy. Financial Aid applications will be available to applicant families upon acceptances.
