Frequently Asked Questions About Admissions:

Why do I need an invitation to apply to Nexus Futbol Academy?
The application is an arduous process that evaluates the students' academic and soccer levels.  The process also includes shadow days and getting to know the families of the applicants.  We want to make sure the family and student is the right fit before asking anyone to go through this time-consuming process and incur any fees related to it.

How do I get invited to apply to Nexus Futbol Academy for the 2022-2023 school year?
There are a few ways to be invited to apply:
1) Attend a Heart and Sole Futsal training practice.  Heart and Sole is run by Nexus co-founder Coach Henry Costas.  It is a great way for Coach Henry and Coach Paul to get to know your family and your player.
2) Your club coach may send an email with a recommendation letter to Nexus' Head of Futbol Henry Costas at henry@nexusfutbol.com.  Because we are not able to watch all the players in the Greater Houston Area, we rely on the youth coaches in our community to help us identify future Nexus players.  Because we are not a team, collaborating with club team coaches is extremely important in the development of our players.
3) A Nexus team member or partner (including Coach Henry Costas, Coach Paul Decle, Head of School Ibrahim Firat, Houston Dynamo Academy Director Paul Holocher, Coaches Aaron Robinson or Otis Williams of P3 Specialized Performance, or Coach Christian Trejo of Fuerza Sports Recovery) is able to watch or see a player at games, tournaments, open plays, or practices and learns more about a player and a family.  Follow Nexus Futbol Academy on Instagram to see where our coaches will be around town.

If you have questions about an invitation for admissions, please fill out the form on our HOME page.

What grades are you accepting for the 2022-2023 school year?
While we are accepting applications for grades 4th-8th and we expect to have those grades during the 2022-2023 academic school year, the pool of qualified applicants will ultimately determine which grades we will have next year.

Is the academic curriculum just a homeschool curriculum on the computer?
No, the academic curriculum is only reinforced by an online curriculum, but all the students are taught by a qualified teacher, hands on with workbooks, books, pencil, and paper.

Can Nexus provide specialized learning for students with an IEP or 504 accommodations?
Unfortunately, as of right now, Nexus cannot support IEPs or 504 plans.

Where will Nexus be located for the 2022-2023 school year?
While P3 Specialized Performance is our home for the 2021-2022 inaugural year, in order to grow we will expand into a larger facility.  We are currently evaluating all options and many locations throughout the Greater Houston Area, specifically the current area of P3 (Beltway 8 and I10), Pearland, and Missouri City.

Is there an opportunity to tour Nexus?
We will be providing a handful of short tours of Nexus, including a Question and Answer time with co-founders Ibrahim Firat and Henry Costas starting October 1.  Please register for our mailing list (using the pop up on our website), follow us on Instagram or Facebook, or check back frequently to receive updates about these.

Are there any fees associated with the admissions application?
Yes.  The application fee is $65, and that includes the tryouts if required.  Applicants who advance to the Educational Assessment phase of the application process will pay an additional $135 fee.

How can I, as a parent, become involved with Nexus?
Nexus was founded by two soccer dads. We love that all the current Nexus families show interest in being a part of the growth of Nexus as investors, employees, contractors, and more.  If you are interested in being a part of the growth of Nexus in some capacity, please email Head of School Ibrahim Firat at ibrahim@nexusfutbol.com.  Please note that parent involvement in the growth of Nexus does not guarantee a spot for your child.

Do you offer any other sports besides soccer?
We do not offer any other sports other than soccer; however, we have received many inquiries for baseball, gymnastics, and basketball.  The Nexus co-founders are happy to share your information with other families and organizations who have similar interests.  Please email Head of School Ibrahim Firat at ibrahim@nexusfutbol.com.

What will be the tuition for the 2022-2023 school year?
While we have not finalized the tuition for next year, the tuition for this 2021-2022 school year was $15,000 for the year, not including uniforms, computers, or field trips.  Tuition will stay within an 8% increase/decrease of this year's tuition.  That number will be final by the close of applications on December 17.

Do you provide financial aid?
Currently, 15% of our total tuition revenue is paid with financial aid (sponsorship dollars).  The amount of financial aid that is available is based on our community sponsors. As Partners in Development with the Houston Dynamo FC Academy, we plan to also have a route in which private donors are able to support Nexus students as well.  We are hopeful to provide need-based tuition aid for more families for the 2022-2023 school year.  Please do not let the ability-to-pay factor keep you from applying for Nexus Futbol Academy.  Financial Aid applications will be available to applicant families by January 7, 2022.
