Nexus students do not attend an online school. They do not use computers. Nexus students have textbooks, workbooks, journals, paper, and pencils. They learn with live teachers teaching from the front of the room, a small group table, or individually at the student's desk.
Academics and grades come FIRST at Nexus. Students are required to maintain a B average in all courses in order to participate in afternoon training sessions. Otherwise, the student is required to attend study hall during the last session.
Students take the ISEE test four (4) times a year, analyzed by our education partner Firat Education, to measure progress and content gaps. Teachers adjust methods and content areas accordingly to exceed Texas' education standards and to meet those of the private school and national standards.
