REQUEST AN INVITATION

At Nexus, we want every player to have a great experience—one that challenges them at the right level and helps them grow. That’s why some of our training sessions are invite-only.  These sessions are designed for players who are ready for a fast-paced, competitive environment. To ensure every player is placed in the session that fits them best, we require an evaluation before extending an invitation.

We welcome all players—we just want them in the right sessions.
Below are three ways to begin the evaluation process for an invitation to an invite-only session at Nexus or Heart and Sole:

1) Attend a Futsal Session
If you are local, we strongly recommend attending one of our futsal sessions, held on Fridays and Sundays. These are open to the public and give us a great opportunity to assess players in a fast-paced, technical environment.  Please download Mindbody App and search Heart and Sole Futsal to book the private lesson.  (Directions below)

If it is over the summer, we do not have regular Friday/Sunday futsal sessions.  In that case, you would need to do one of the following:

2) Book a private lesson with Coach Rodrigo or Coach Conrado.
Private sessions are a great way for our coaches to evaluate the player in a focused environment. Not only will the player receive valuable individualized instruction, but it also gives us a clear sense of their current level and potential. Please download Mindbody App and search Heart and Sole Futsal to book the private lesson.  (Directions attached)

3) Submit a Video
If attending in person is not possible, you may submit a video for review. To be considered for an invitation, we must first see the player in action.

Please compile a single video (no longer than 3 minutes) that includes the following:

  • 30sec-1min of Freestyle Technique
Show off your individual ball control (jueguitos), such as juggling, footwork patterns, or other creative touches.
  • Passing and Receiving on the Move (Both Feet)
Demonstrate passing and control while moving, using both feet.
  • Finishing/Striking with Both Feet
Include clips of the player taking shots on goal with both the right and left foot.
  • Ball Control into Space
Toss the ball in the air and control it with one touch into space. Show this multiple times to demonstrate consistency.
  • 1v1 Play
A short segment showing attacking or defending in 1v1 scenarios—this can be from training or game footage.
  • Small-Sided or Transitional Play
Include any small-sided game or transitional drill (such as 3v3 + 3) that shows movement, awareness, and decision-making.

Video Submission Instructions:
Email the video in HD to [email protected]:

Subject: [Player's full name] [Player birth year] Request for Invite
Body of email must include:

  • Link to video (if not attached)
  • Color of jersey/shirt wearing in each video (if a video with other players)
  • Number wearing in each video (if applicable)
  • Position playing in each video (if applicable)

Attach:  Clear videos (if no link) & Player headshot (required)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: When do I find out if my player is invited?
A: Within 24 hours, someone from the team will contact you with one of two answers:
1) Yes, he/she is invited.
2) Continue to attend our OPEN futsal/futbol sessions at Nexus/Heart and Sole, and we will move the player when ready.

Q: Why are some sessions invite-only?
A: We design certain sessions to be fast-paced and highly competitive to push advanced players. To maintain a productive training environment, we evaluate players first to ensure it's the right fit. Our goal is not to exclude—it’s to place every player in the session that best supports their growth.

Q: Can any player attend summer training?
A: Yes! All players are welcome at Nexus—we just want to make sure they’re in the session that matches their current level. Some sessions are open to all, while others require an invitation after evaluation.

Q: If my child is not invited to the advanced sessions, can they still train at Nexus?
A: Absolutely. We offer multiple training environments to meet players where they are. If a player isn’t placed in an invite-only session, we’ll recommend the best alternative training options to support their development.

Q: Can my child be re-evaluated?
A: Once you continue to attend our open sessions, our coaches will naturally continue to evaluate. We recommend you continue to attend sessions with Nexus/Heart and Sole.  Our coaches will naturally move kids who they would like in the invite-only sessions.
