Nexus Host Families:

As a family sending your child to study abroad at Nexus, you can feel confident that they will be welcomed by caring families of current Nexus students. These families provide room and board, meals outside of Nexus, assist with transportation, and involve your child in their daily routines. To ensure a good match, you will have the opportunity to meet potential host families via Zoom before your child’s arrival in Houston. This allows both parties to feel comfortable and establish a strong connection prior to the experience.

ESL Program at Nexus:

The ESL (English as a Second Language) program at Nexus is designed to help non-native speakers improve their language skills. Focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and listening, the program integrates language learning with practical, everyday communication. Small class sizes and individualized attention ensure that each student can develop their language proficiency in a supportive environment. Additionally, the curriculum often incorporates real-life experiences and cultural activities, enabling students to practice English in various settings.

Cultural Experiences in Houston

Houston, Texas, is a vibrant city with diverse cultural offerings. Houston is home to festivals celebrating global cultures, art exhibitions, and lively sporting events. The city's diversity makes it an ideal location for students to gain exposure to a wide array of cultural experiences, from the arts to culinary adventures.

Soccer Program:
The Nexus soccer model focuses on mastering individual skills and it integrates perception with decision making to promote game intelligence.

Our goal for younger students is for them to be technically and tactically ready by the time they reach U13 level (MLS Next). Our goal for high school students is for them to be ready for college or professional soccer.

We use phases and components of development and our own teaching methodology to achieve our goals, promoting discipline and mindset throughout.
Heart and Sole Futsal:
Nexus utilizes FUTSAL as a component to develop well rounded soccer players. Through futsal, our students master the fundamental skills for soccer and learn to adapt to a quicker speed of play under constant pressure. We promote creativity and confidence for students to feel comfortable taking on 1v1 situations. Advanced players are exposed to game situations where they have to solve problems through tactical awareness and game intelligence.
