Nexus Academy Foundation – Fútbol Scholarship Program (Bolivia)

The reality is clear: talent exists everywhere, but opportunity does not.

Across Bolivia, especially in rural and underserved communities, thousands of children have natural fútbol ability but lack access to academies, proper coaching, structure, and safe environments to develop as people, students, and players.

The Nexus Foundation created a program to change that.
⸻

Program Overview

The Nexus Academy Foundation Fútbol Scholarship Program supports Bolivian children ages 7–13 who demonstrate potential, discipline, and character, but who come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Many of these children have never had the opportunity to train in a formal academy. Through this program, selected children receive a full-year scholarship to train at Cleveland Internacional FC, giving them structure, mentorship, and a pathway to long-term development.
⸻

Reaching Rural & Vulnerable Communities

This program is specifically designed to reach children living in rural areas and communities with limited access to organized fútbol.

Many of these children:
• Train without proper equipment
• Have never been part of an academy
• Live in poor conditions with limited opportunities

They have talent, hunger, and dreams, but not access.
⸻

What Is Cleveland Internacional FC?

Cleveland Internacional FC is a fútbol academy and club based in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, with its operations centered at a High Performance Center in Cotoca.

The club offers a complete development pathway that includes:
• Soccer School Programs: Introductory and developmental fútbol programs for young players, focused on fundamentals, discipline, and enjoyment of the game.
• Competitive Teams (ACF): Official competition teams participating in the Asociación Cruceña de Fútbol (ACF), the highest regional competition structure in Santa Cruz and the pathway to national fútbol.
• Technical Development Academy: Specialized training programs focused on specific areas of development such as technique, decision-making, game understanding, and positional skills.
• Men’s Competitive Team – 3rd División de Ascenso: A senior team competing in the 3rd División de Ascenso, equivalent to the 5th division of the Bolivian professional league system, providing a real competitive pathway for long-term player development.

Cleveland Internacional FC is not just an academy, it is a long-term community and development project built to provide structure, opportunity, and continuity for players at every stage.
⸻

Scholarship Coverage

Each scholarship covers one full year and includes:
• Full academy enrollment
• Training and development programs
• Supervision and mentorship
• Uniform and basic equipment (as applicable)
⸻

Our Mission

Our initial goal is to transform the lives of 100 children in Bolivia through fútbol.
• Cost per child: $500 per year
• 2026 fundraising goal: $50,000

This funding allows us to sustain training, facilities, staff, and outreach to children who otherwise would not have access to an academy environment.
⸻

Leadership & Vision

The program is led by Henry Costas, Co-Founder of Nexus Fútbol Academy, a Bolivian who received an opportunity through fútbol as a child, took full advantage of it, and is now committed to giving back to his country and community.

His personal journey shapes the vision of a program built on opportunity, structure, and belief.

“Fútbol is my passion.  It is a sport that gave me an opportunity in life.I was fortunate to receive that opportunity as a kid, and it changed everything. Today, I want to help our youth by offering them an opportunity to succeed, not only as players, but as people.”— Henry Costas, Co-Founder, Nexus Fútbol Academy
⸻

Sponsorship Opportunities

Support a child, a group of children, or the overall scholarship fund:
• $5,000 → Sponsors 10 children
• $2,500 → Sponsors 5 children
• $1,000 → Sponsors 2 children
• $500 → Sponsors 1 child
• $25 per month → Sponsors 1 child for a full year
• Open amount → Contribute any amount to the scholarship fund

For these children, this program represents:
• Their first real opportunity
• A safe place to grow and belong
• Structure, guidance, and belief

Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not.  The Nexus Academy Foundation continues to build programs to change that through fútbol.
