Admissions Process
What grades are you accepting for the 2027–2028 school year?

Nexus is accepting applications for grades 3–12 for the 2027–2028 academic year. Availability may vary by grade level.

How do I begin the admissions process?
The first step is to register your student as a Nexus Trialist. After registering, families will receive information about completing the required futbol evaluation.
What does the futbol evaluation involve?
All applicants complete a 60-minute individual assessment and a 90-minute group evaluation session through the Nexus Player Development Program. This allows our coaches to evaluate each player individually and within a group training environment. The $150 evaluation fee includes both sessions. After both sessions are complete, the Head of Futbol will share feedback with the admissions team, and Nexus will contact your family regarding the appropriate next steps.
What admissions testing is required?
All applicants must complete the ISEE through the Educational Records Bureau. Families are responsible for scheduling the exam, paying the testing fees, and requesting that results be sent directly to Nexus.
Does every applicant attend a Shadow Day?
No. Based on the previous admissions steps, select applicants may be invited to attend a Shadow Day at Nexus.
Can my family tour Nexus?
Open Houses and Walkthrough Wednesdays are available on select dates. Private tours may also be available to families actively participating in the admissions process.

Academics
Are Nexus courses NCAA-approved?
Yes. All core courses required for NCAA eligibility are approved. Our NCAA High School Code is 853405. Nexus students begin their NCAA eligibility path in eighth grade in preparation for potential Division I or Division II athletics.
Is the curriculum entirely online?

No. Students through eighth grade learn primarily through in-person instruction. High school students following the Independent Scholar model complete an online curriculum but are required to attend Nexus in person.
Can Nexus support students with IEPs or 504 plans?
At this time, Nexus is not able to support students who require formal IEP or 504 accommodations.

Tuition & Financial Aid
What is the tuition for 2027–2028?
The tuition rate for the 2027–2028 academic year will be published soon. For reference, annual tuition for the current 2026–2027 academic year is $19,900. Tuition is reviewed annually, so the 2027–2028 rate may differ, and will be announced later this fall. Additional expenses may include school uniforms, an optional lunch program, field trips, admissions testing, and optional international travel.

Do you provide financial aid?

Yes. Limited need-based financial aid is available through the Nexus Academy Foundation. Families seeking Nexus financial aid must first apply for Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA) funding and indicate their interest within the Online Application for Admission. Nexus will then provide a separate Financial Aid Application.

Any TEFA award received will be applied first toward eligible tuition expenses as part of the family’s total tuition assistance package. Nexus may offer additional need-based assistance when applicable and subject to available funding. TEFA eligibility and award decisions are determined by the state.

Student Life & Parent Involvement
Do you offer other sports besides soccer?
No. Nexus is a soccer-focused program. While we may occasionally connect families with other community programs, our athletic development program is dedicated exclusively to soccer.

How can parents get involved with Nexus?

Family involvement is an important part of the Nexus community. Parents have supported Nexus as volunteers, contractors, staff members, and sponsors. Please note that parent involvement does not influence admissions decisions. Contact us about getting involved.
